Cute and Affordable Kids Clothes for Fall and Winter

I’m super excited about the kids’ fall/winter clothes I found this year! As always, I went online bargain hunting because they both pretty much needed a whole new wardrobe for the new season, and it turns out that buying clothes for two growing toddlers adds up quickly. Quality is important to us, but so is saving money! So I hopped on Amazon, Target and Zara to score some deals. I can’t believe how much I found- especially on Amazon!

I get a lot of questions regarding my kids’ clothes so I thought I would link everything I bought in this blog post for you. And as always, lots of beautiful neutrals, earthy tones, and mix-n-matchables ;) It can be pretty hard to find kids clothes that aren’t super bold and bright and sporty, but instead soft and muted and vintage. I’ve spent MANY hours scouring the internet for unique kids clothes that aren’t the typical Carters and whatnot, and I used to only be able to find the type of clothing that I like from small online shops and Etsy. Don’t get me wrong I 100% love supporting small businesses and will always choose that over big box stores… BUT sometimes it’s just not doable to drop $30+ on one shirt or pair of pants for my kids- and that’s a modest number. When I have to buy multiple pairs of pants, shirts, sweaters, jackets, shoes, hats, mittens, etc for TWO kids at the same time I need to be able to find deals. It used to be that the only place to find deals was Walmart, Carters, OshKosh, and all those big brands with mass-produced (and in my opinion U G L Y lol - no offense, it’s just my opinion) styles, but now there are so many options for finding deals on kids clothes that are actually cute and my style. I knew there are many mamas out there that have a similar style preference to me, so I wanted to share my wealth of knowledge on my fave online bargain shopping for those of you who prefer neutrals and earthy tones and muted colors over bold and bright and loud :)

I LOVE being able to make many outfits with a few pieces. I also love layering pieces; ‘tis the season for layering, right? I purposely bought items that I feel will last longer than just this season. Oversized sweaters and cardigans are good ones to buy bigger because they can fit over multiple layers of tops and keep your kiddo warm, and they will also allow your child to continue to grow in them so they can hopefully be worn in next year’s cold season as well. That was my thought anyway! Another tip: cheap t-shirts are great for undershirts under a nicer dress, long sleeve, etc. When it’s as cold as it is here in North Dakota, I often put a t-shirt, long sleeve shirt, sweater and jacket on my kids. But if you’re somewhere where you don’t need quite that much layering, well consider yourself lucky for one, but nix whichever layer(s) you don’t need. I am obsessed with the bubble knit cardigans I got my daughter. I actually first saw one in a baby/kids boutique, but the price tag was way out of my budget. I went on Amazon and found the same styles for way cheaper and I was SO excited I got all three colors. I got lots of sweaters and sweater dresses and tights for her too, because I feel like comfort is key this time of year, AND all of these things can mismatch and look cute no matter what. Win win.

My son already had plenty of shirts and long sleeves that work for this season, so I focused mainly on outerwear, pants and accessories. I’m super happy with all the neutral sweaters I found for him! I’m digging the mustard and brown pants too, it’s nice to have something different than the typical jeans. I feel like all of his pieces can be mixed around as well.

For their winter coats and accessories I went with Zara. They are hands down one of my FAVORITE places for kids clothes! They have boutique quality and style clothes but the prices are unbeatable. I just love their retro vibe, too. For my son’s coat I went with the color block one which he was so excited about. I actually showed him before I ordered it because I wanted to make sure I got one he liked. I’m pretty picky with their clothes but I do like them to feel special and have a say. Miss Aveya got a neutral jacket because I knew no matter what jacket I got her she would hate it anyway, haha, she does not like wearing them! But this way it will go with whatever she’s wearing, and it will match her accessories too. I couldn’t pass up these rain boots for the kids, the mustard and brown colors are precious, and they are perfect for right now before it gets crazy snowy here. I went with white mittens for both of them and neutral hats to match their jackets. And now some pictures of my adorable kids modeling some of their clothes to show you what they look like ;)
